Who needs new years resolutions to change your life?

I certainly don't! I've never been a fan of setting a date on when you are suddenly going to change something about your life. And I think that's why people always give up on them. Because lets face it, if you don't want it enough to change any other time of the year, what makes you think a new year is going to help?

And I made a decision recently that I was going to change the way I face something in my life. I came to the realisation that I was being treated like a fool by someone and they were picking me up and putting me down whenever they pleased. And I let them because I didn't expect them to treat me any other way.

But talking to friends about the situation that was going on I soon realised that I deserved better. I deserved to know what was going on rather than waiting for answers for days on end, I deserve to be thought of first and I deserve to be a priority rather than a backup plan.

So I decided that I wasn't going to message this person anymore. I would let them be the one to make first contact and if they didn't, then that was their choice. And after posting this status...

It wasn't long until they contacted me. Funny how people work. Fair to say I'm keeping my distance and trying to not get too caught up on them again. And of course I will keep you all updated!

Have you ever cut someone out of your life?
Or are you thinking about it?

  1. I think it was pretty bold of you to post this message on social media. I know I wouldn't have the guts, but yes, I did cut someone else from my life. They are other people I'm thinking of doing the same. Although, I'm still holding on on the good memories I created with them which makes it harder to let them go. I believe that you can love someone as a friend and appreciate them ... afar, when they aren't your close friend. It's okay and I think it was really hard admitting to myself that I felt happier and like a weight on my shoulder just left.

I wish you good luck and I hope you will someone who appreciate you more! Everyone deserve to be treated right!
